A Wedding Close to the Heart: Celebrating Love with Handmade Candles
Last week, I had the absolute joy of attending my best friend’s wedding—an event that was as full of love as it was beautifully personal. What made it even more special was sharing it with my partner Dan, who is also my co-founder and fellow creative force behind our personalised wedding candles.
It was more than just attending a wedding—it felt like being part of something truly magical. And as makers of bespoke candles for weddings and special occasions, we couldn’t resist bringing a touch of our own work to the celebration.
Handmade with Love—for People We Love
We were asked to create a set of custom candles just for them. We chose a soft, romantic scent that felt perfectly “them,” and hand-poured each candle with care. Their married name, wedding date, and a meaningful quote adorned the labels—a keepsake they can light on anniversaries for years to come.
We also made special candles for the mother of the bride and mother of the groom—two incredible women who were glowing with pride the entire day. It was our way of acknowledging their love and support through the years. Each candle was customised with their names and a heartfelt thank-you message.
And then came the favours. Oh, the favours! We made a wax melts for every guest—each with a unique label that matched the couple’s theme. It was such a joy seeing guests smile as they discovered their little gift at their place settings.
Why This Matters to Us
This experience reminded us why we do what we do. Creating candles for weddings isn’t just about the scent or the aesthetic—it’s about capturing a moment, sharing emotion, and making memories last.
Being part of this wedding not only as guests but as contributors added a whole new layer of meaning to our work.
